Blenheim Palace Triathlon 2025

June 7-8 2025

2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Thinking of Oscar and the 10 anniversairy of our participation at the annual Blenheim Palace Triathlon.  Blenheim has remained one of our key fundraising events and in Oscar's memory we would like to invite as many friends, family and supporters as possible to join us by swimming, cycling and running around the beautiful Blenheim Palace estate.

How to join us...

Over the last 10 years we have raised over £200,000 and had more than 200 people compete for Thinking of Oscar at Blenheim.  For many in was their first foray into the world of Triathlon.  We are in disbelief that 2025 will mark 11 years since Oscar died and 10 since we first took part at Blenehim Triathlon.  We have been working with the Blenheim Palace Triathlon organisers Motiv to help support them in their quest to make the Blenheim Triathlon the best it can be for charities big and small.  It has been a wonderful event for us over teh years and we would love for as many participants as possible to join us this year on June 7th and 8th for the 2025 edition.

We origionally chose this event as one of our main fundraising initiatives for a number of reasons;  Blenheim Palace is close to our home, and when our children were very small we would walk a lot with them in the beautiful grounds of the palace.  After Oscar died we started to think about things that we could do which were outside of our own comfort zone in order to raise awareness of the charity and generate funds.  Living your life without one of your children is unfathomably difficult and having friends and family give something a go which, for some, is an enormous personal stretch, continues to be a very symbolic gesture of support.

This particular event welcomes a very large proportion of first time triatheles and this year they are also offering a duathlon for those who don't want to swim.  The main triathlon distance offered is a sprint consisting of a 750 metre swim, 20km cycle ride around the grounds followed by a scenic 5km run.

The support that participants receive is incredible. Everyone who chooses to take part on behalf of Thinking of Oscar wears the team kit and this means that they are welcomed by a barrage of support from family and friends across the course.  Our aim is to have an allocated wave specificially for Thinking of Oscar setting off together on Sunday June 8th (although we do have a couple of crazy triatheletes who will be there on both days taking part in the Weekend Warrior).

If you would like to join us in 2025 please get in touch.  It is a really fun family day out and is your chance to do something different – or just something that you love, if you’re already a seasoned triathlete – and make a very considerable impact on our annual fundraising.
